Training Course for Beginners

Hello All,

This looks like a great place to ask about a class that would help introduce
a beginner to administering a Share Point Portal server site. I am currently
enrolled in a class called-

"SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Site Development and Customization Workshop".

I have had a site created for me and have had some time to read through a
lot of the help docs and get a pretty good understanding of how the site
behaves.

My question is to- first of all find out if any of you have taken the
forementioned class or something similar, and how was it? Next of all any
other suggestions on classes to take to get up to speed on administering a
site?

Was the course you took a Microsoft Official Curriculum course? Where did
you take it?

If you are in Canada, CDI Education (my employer) delivers SharePoint
courses intended for end-users including a MS curriculum course (2014) which
sounds similar to what you took. CDI also offers a two-day course which
covers "Building Collaborative Solutions with Team Web Sites," and a four-day
course designed to introduce SharePoint to a group of champions (aka power
users) within a single company. The four-day course introduces WSS and SPS in
greater detail, and has the goal of designing an enterprise solution for the
organization by the end of the fourth day. It's a great kickstart for
companies at the cusp of deployment.
